We'll teach you strategies and techniques to improve your writing for the long term. We offer both in-person and online appointments. Schedule your own appointment today! There are three ways to make an appointment:

  1. Schedule your own appointment through our software: WCOnline.
  2. Visit us at Sage 150 during our in-person appointment hours. 
  3. Call us at 940-565-2563 during our in-person appointment hours.

For in-person appointments:

  • Come to Sage Hall 150 at least 5 minutes prior to the start of your scheduled appointment.
  • Please bring your laptop or a physical copy of your project.

For online tutoring appointments:

  • You can log on to WCOnline from your home or office for an online, live, interactive tutoring session.
  • You and your tutor can chat in real time using WCOnline's online consultation feature.
  • You can mark up your paper using drawing tools.
  • You can edit the text of your paper with the tutor's help.

To schedule an online tutoring session, register for a free account with us and choose the time that works best for you on our calendar schedule. If you are having any issues registering or scheduling your appointment, please email us at WritingCenter@unt.edu or call us at 940-565-2563. 

 

At the Time of Your Online Tutoring Session

To get the most out of your online tutoring session, you will need to actively participate in the session by asking and replying to questions. For chat box-based sessions, our online tutoring sessions are in a virtual chat room; you'll see a dialog box where you can type questions and receive answers from the tutor. To begin your online tutoring session:

  1. Log into WCOnline or locate the link in the appointment confirmation email sent to your registered email address
  2. Click on "My Appointments" in the left-hand menu
  3. Click into your appointment window, and select "Start or Join Online Consultation"
  4. Participate in your session by asking questions and giving feedback.
  5. Once your session has ended, look for an email from us with a Client Report Form that includes a summary of your session, comments, and your tutor's advice for continued revision to your project.
